Your Publisher Will Define You

Publishing on your own can be confusing. There are many options and even more choices. In the end what matters is whom can you trust? The company that places their logo on your book or next to your title will define who you are as an author. Publishing is built on perception and if the image of your writing is discounted due to a publisher logo then the road to success will be long and treacherous. We offer a free GUIDE TO PUBLISHING by request, simply include your name and email address at the right column. Let us know how we may assist you in becoming a successful independent author.

When Quality Matters

The INDI Publishing Group is not a traditional publisher; we do not purchase rights to content. Rather, we created a new model for publishing, a hybrid model. Our approach is to assist quality writers choosing to publish independently, on their own. We offer unmatched experience and personal guidance through every step of the process. In the end, our authors own all rights, have complete ownership and control over their content. In addition, authors are free to leave our program at any time, never bound by any agreement or time limit. When quality writers want a quality publication, we are the overwhelming choice.

We believe there are four critical points that every writer should examine before making a final decision on who publishes their writing. (1) Know the background and publishing experience of those assisting you with publication. Large companies with customer service representatives are not who you want helping you make decisions. If biographies or about us links are not available or impressive then walk away. (2) Never be fooled with the bait and switch tactic, low price to get started and end up with a long list of “needed” add-ons. According to statistics from the largest print-on-demand companies the average total price for a self published printed book is $2,300 and the majority sell no more than 50 copies lifetime. (3) Avoid companies that do not offer a legitimate method of contact and especially if they take several days to respond to email inquiries. This is an indication they will not be available for questions, concerns or problems. (4) If it sounds too good to be true or offers promises and guarantees, consider them companies to be avoided.

Jerry D. Simmons
Founder, INDI Publishing Group, LLC

The INDI Publishing Group is seeking writers interested in independent publishing. Our goal is to raise the bar on the quality of the independently published book and provide complete access for our titles to the marketplace. We are doing for books what IFC has done for film. Our strategy is to work with writers in developing an overall publishing strategy for their content in all formats.
